Dietary Fibre

Dietary fibre is an essential element for the human body. Although it is not digested and absorbed, it can help intestinal health and prevent various chronic diseases.

Dietary fibre is divided into soluble fibre and insoluble fibre, both of which need to be consumed to maintain health. Water-soluble fibre can help stabilize blood sugar and bad cholesterol, while insoluble dietary fibre supports gastrointestinal motility. Because insoluble dietary fibre is not absorbed by the human body, it can help prevent constipation by softening and excreting faeces when enough water is consumed. If food residues stay in the body for too long, not only will carcinogens accumulate, but the faeces will become dry, making it hard to pass and may cause problems such as constipation or haemorrhoids.

It is recommended to have a balanced intake of dietary fibre from whole foods, such as beans, vegetables, and whole grains. It is also recommended to eat fruits and vegetables skin on after cleaning the skin to increase the dietary fibre content.
